Grounded Consulting supported The Metals Company, formerly DeepGreen, in the development and early implementation of a communication and engagement strategy for the first Environmental and Social Impact Assessment of polymetallic nodule collection in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone, north-east Pacific Ocean.
The project brought together global stakeholders including scientists, academics and NGOs to examine environmental, social and technical considerations for deep-sea resource development.
Engagement included the design and delivery of a structured workshop series, held in person and online, including a global two-day stakeholder workshop and an on-board tour of a research vessel in San Diego, USA.
Grounded Consulting coordinated end-to-end event delivery across international participants, supporting logistics, travel and facilitation of workshops for more than 40 delegates.
